Give it some spark! When you charge a car that’s running low on juice – you earn driving credit. Each time you fully charge a car that has less than 35% battery level, you'll earn 5,00 € of credit. This can be used to pay for your trips and trip-related costs. Just make sure you end your trip after you charge the car!

How to charge an electric car in Germany

Charging an electric car is fun and – dare we say – addictive! We don't expect you to charge our electric cars after every trip. However, if you do, the cost of charging is covered by us and we'll even give you SHARE NOW credit as a thank you. Here's how to do it:

1. Find a charging station near you using the app

Once you've found a charging station, the next thing to locate is the charging card. You'll find it either in the the glove compartment or the armrest. Use the card to activate the charging station.

2. Get the charging cable from the car boot

This unlocks the port so you can plug the charging cable in.

3. Plug the cable into the car

Connect the cable to the car first. You'll find the plug where you'd usually find the fuel cap on a regular car. Don't worry, it's completely safe.

4. Plug the cable into the station

You can also return the charging card to where you found it at this stage. End your trip in the app and you are done!

How to unplug an electric car in Germany

One of the perks of free-floating car-sharing is that you can locate electric cars anywhere throughout the Home Area. If you are looking for maximum range, though, we recommend starting your trip in a car that is waiting at a charging station, full and ready to hit the road. Here's how to unplug electric cars:

1. Open the car with the app

Remember to start the rental before unplugging the car.

2. Deactivate the charging station

Use the card you've just fetched from the car to end the charging process at the charging station. You can then unplug the cable from the charging station.

3. Unplug the cable from the car

Remember, the charging cable is connected at both ends, so you'll need to unplug it from the charging point on the car too.

4. Wind up the cable

And return it the boot of the car. Put the card back in the holder too. You're now good to go - enjoy the drive!

The minute rate includes 200 km of mileage. A long distance rate of 0,39 € per kilometer will apply for each additional kilometer after the included mileage. Hourly and daily rates do not include mileage and each kilometre driven will be charged between 0,23 € and n.a. (depending on car model category). The daily price displayed is for a 30-day rental.

All SHARE NOW cars are covered by third-party liability insurance and your deductible is always automatically reduced to a specific amount in case of an accident. This agreement is waived, however, in cases of gross negligence. To learn more, please check out our terms and conditions.
